So I just got an email from The She Space announcing the new tools section--primers, a liner sealer, and brushes! Very exciting! These might be the brushes I go for--they're looking very nice and quite reasonably priced, I think. Check it out: http://www.theshespace.com/toolsyouneed.html
Also, if anyone gets the nude primer I'd love to hear what you think--I'm looking for a primer and wondering if UDPP is my best bet or whether I could get something a little less expensive.
So I just got back from a lovely little jaunt up into Door County, the northeastern peninsula of Wisconsin. The boyfriend and I went up there for four days and camped on Washington Island, an island right off the tip of the peninsula. There were certainly some crabby moments (the boyfriend seems to think everything should always go directly to plan, which I didn't understand, being as how we were CAMPING IN A TENT) but overall it was very nice and fun. We did some biking, went on a horseback ride, and ate canned soup and bacon cooked over a fire.
In other (more civilized--hehe) news, I have another little haul to share with you! I snagged me a few things from MAC's Starflash collection. Here they are:
From left to right, I got Top Hat, Go, and Mink & Sable. On top is the kohl power pencil in Feline. I like the creaminess and the darkness of the kohl pencil, but it smudges all over the damn place and stays on about as well as a kid with ADHD sits through class. I mean, it's a nice product and it goes smoothly and painlessly and beautifully onto my waterline, but if I touch my face, or I blink too hard, or the wind blows the wrong way, it's either all over my face or gone entirely. So good for a special occasion or if I'm going to be indoors all day, I guess. It is nice, just very tidgy, and I'm clumsy, so I have to be very careful with it. The eyeshadows, on the other hand, are BEAUTIFUL. Here are some swatches:
It was pretty bright, sunlight was streaming through the window directly onto my hand when I took the first picture, so I did a fingertip swipe to try to get an accurate picture of the intensity of the colors. They're lovely; so far I've only used Mink & Sable, which is a superb dirty golden green, but I look forward to trying a look with some Top Hat, probably this weekend.
Here are some FOTDs involving products actually on me:
First is Feline power kohl--you can see the smooth black line (and I'm sure it's more visible if you click and enlarge the pic) and second and third pics are today's FOTD (please excuse the drastic frizz, it's humid). Foundation is Meow Frisky Ocicat, powder is my Amazing Cosmetics compact, blush is a tidge of Meow's Orgasmic, eyes are MAC Mink & Sable on the lid and MAC Humid in the crease and outer corner. Mascara is my Smashbox Bionic mascara, which is (really unfortunately) running out. : ( Any recs for a new tube?
The thing is, having tried a more complicated look than just an all-over shimmer neutral color like my Rumor gem light, I realize that I really need to get some real eyeshadow brushes. I need a fluffy domed crease blending brush (in fact, two would be welcome), and a couple more lid-color brushes would be good. I have a pretty decent brush for highlighting, so okay there, but I'd also really like a fiber-optic or skunk brush for my blush. I shouldn't really be spending too much money right now, but really, I figure a good few brushes are going to be a staple for a pretty long time, so it's probably worth it, especially if I want to be able to wear more than basic makeup while I'm in Europe and not buying new stuff. Any recs on good, soft, but inexpensive brushes? I'm thinking about trying both the fluffy crease brushes from Coastal Scents, but their skunk brush is out of stock and had iffy reviews anyway, and I was hoping for one-stop shopping. Are NYX brushes any good? Any other suggestions?
Also, the little brother has informed me that a small package arrived for me at home, so when I get back there this weekend (at the boyfriend's place right now, helping him move into his new apartment) I will be sure to pop it open and take some photos. I suspect it's my Meow munchkin foundation order. Exciting!
Okay, ciao bellas, more this weekend or early next week.
Hi ladies, this is a REAL commercial, but I thought was funny since I am Titty. HAHAHA :)
Oh yeah, if you are planning on purchasing Eyeko products, please use this code: E102.
They also do free international shipping anyway!! :)
I was talking to Ekatherina via Facebook today and mentioned to her that I was trying to decide what to do with my eyes today. She mentioned that it felt like fall where she is, so I should do a fall look with reds, oranges and browns. This is what I came up with
Great idea, Kat! ![]()

Swatches of ALL the SN Lippies I currently have in my possession.
They are organized in two ways: First they are organized by type and Second they are organized alphabetically. I understand that it could be more convenient to see like colors side by side but alphabetizing them ensures that I don't mix up any of the swatches. This way, I know exactly what they are when I label the photos.
For your reference, my skin is almost neutral but decidely on the warmer side. I use a blend of warm and buttery gold in SN.

At first, in all types, LaurEss powders make my skin so soft and smooth. Maybe the powders are well-fined ? I like this touch very much !!!
1) Radiant Gold
Ethreal & Elemental
2) Radiant Yellow
Ethreal & Minimalist
Ethreal - Full coverage, the powder is well-fined and adhere to skin so well. Good at flating the skin color... very formal finish but Not cakey that is great. But, it is necessary for my skin to be dried enough, otherwise, not uniformly covered and got dirty...
Elemental - Medium coverage in LaurEss, but more coverage than other companies' Medium coverage type. Other 2 formulas impressed me more altho this foundation is also good one.
Minimalist - Very light powders so that I forget to wear the foundation. The lightness is the best in all Foundation I have tried. So confortable, I like this point !!! I everyday wear the EM sunlight Concealer that is what I love. Some foundations don't harmonize with this concealer (EM foundation doesn't unbeliabably in my case). But, the minimalist does harmonize so well. This foundation reminds me of ALIMA foundation of my HG. So, I like this too.
Alima is a little better in the pore coverage. But, LaurEss minimalist can stay longer on my skin !
Maybe the combination of above two would be the perfect ?!?
As for color, Radient yellow with a little gold could be perfect. But, it looks ok with only yellow if I choose 1 color.
LaurEss still offer 15% sales for foundations. I am wondering if I should buy above foundations. I am targetting Trio Set of Foundations - Radiant Yellow Ethreal and Minimalist and something for Primer maybe. I tried the primer for dried skin - it was just fine. How about other types ?!? They will change the ingredient soon (or already ?).
One thing, to tell the truth, I already have a full size of Green Corrector - that size was smaller than expected. When I compare with 2 other companies,
All foundation is in this size ???
191...191. I can't believe it. This is officially my lowest weight since having my son 6 yrs ago. I was able to reach 192 in the December of 2006, but I never saw any lower than that. I immediately gained the notorious holiday 5 pounds and then I struggled with getting that 5 pounds off in the following 6 months. Anyhow, point being....I am 191!!! I am only 20 pounds heavier than my pre-pregnancy weight. That is soooo exciting and it's just around the corner!
Today I sit at 1,473 calories. Only 3 calories over my limit. Not too bad. I really think this calorie cutback is helping me. Maybe I was hitting a plateau the past 2 weeks. I really hope I can hit 190 by Sunday. That would be amazing!
This video is hilarious. I am a new Kevjumba fan. Prepare to laugh.
I did my turbo Jam Turbo Sculpt today. And oh, did I mention today is officially my day 95 doing turbo jam? That's pretty amazing too. That I have survived not only 3 months of changing my eating habits but that I have also completed a round of TJ.
Here's my day 30 photo. My day 30! Wow, one month on that too! I'm just full of goals. They are just flowing out of me like sweat after a Turbo Jam workout!
I am wearing mineral eye shadows from Our Rock Minerals. When I first decided on a look to try, I was going to mimic Jude's Cult of Cherry by MAC Cosmetics tutorial but not exactly. Instead of where she applied the white color on the lid I decided to use a peachy color so I chose Embrace. When I went to apply Twig to my crease and just above it, it was pretty dark and dominant. I admit it freaked me out how dark it was but as I blended it lightened up and turned out ok.
The Our Rock Mineral shadows I used were:
Twig
Embrace
Interplay
Glade
I also used a peachy color from my 88 palette to blend the Twig into the Interplay.

We survived Samplepalooza- it was much much bigger than anticipated, but we got everything out, and are slowly getting back to normal around the shop. This week I've been working on the finishing touches of Round 4!
This round is the biggest round so far... We have 24 new shadow colors, 5 new blushes, the powdered undereye concealers, cream liners, cream liners in brow colors (really fantastic- they color and groom), and some dupes of the Bare Escentuals Radiance powders- and this time they're vegan! We'll also have some lippies- but I haven't decided on the final lineup just yet.
If you gush for blush you won't be disappointed! I have 5 colors duped- all by customer request. Bobbi Brown's Mauve and Desert Rose, MAC Dame and Pleasantry from Sonic Flash, and NARS Dolce Vita. I'm in love with them all!
Then there are the shadows:
I made a series of 15 colors- all wonderfully coordinated, all with a touch of copper. I love the way copper brings out highlights in the eyes. My goal with these was to create a collection where you could grab a few colors, and just go with it- admittedly with some of the combinations you have to be a little adventurous, but you can really play and experiment without worrying about being too over the top. They're all about the same finish as the Grease collection- I just love that velvet texture, and once I started going with the colors I just couldn't stop!
And I'd heard that Bobbi Brown was coming out with another one of her stunning Fall Palettes- like the Stonewashed Nudes- but shimmering this year. They're not in stores yet, and because they're LE and GORGEOUS I'm guessing they'll be available for about 5 minutes- but they've been on eBay for weeks- so I grabbed one and cloned it. When I opened it, I thought it was a snooze fest, but it grew on me the same way SWN did- and I really love the colors. They will be part of our permanent collection- but we're doing a special intro offer on them. I made a special lippie to go with them- back to basics with a pretty shimmery wash.
When will these be on the site? Hopefully early next week- the Shimmering Nudes Palette could be there as early as Friday, but I'm waiting on a shipment of pigments to do final production runs on the rest.. ASAP- full steam ahead! Of course I'll post here just as soon as they're up!
Thank you all so much for your support- we really appreciate it!
